Do you struggle with networking too? Personally, I've had a tough time getting back into the swing of the networking "circuit." admittedly, I've been focused on developing new products and keeping my head down for the past few years. However, ever since COVID hit it has been a real challenge for me to jump back into networking.
Let me clarify—I'm not agoraphobic or anything like that. I actually enjoy being around people and meeting new individuals. I find it exciting to learn about their backgrounds and professions, you could say I'm quite enthusiastic about networking and drawing inspiration from others and their ideas but for some reason, I'm currently finding it incredibly difficult to muster the motivation to get back out there, so am I the only one feeling this way?
A few weeks ago, I had my annual meeting with my accountant, the fantastic Stuart Hall who provides us with far more than just sound accountancy services. During our discussion, we addressed some of the current challenges we're facing and unsurprisingly, networking emerged as one of the most crucial aspects, I know this may seem obvious to many, but not for me...
Just last week we attended a session organised by Engineering & Manufacturing Network in preparation for #EMCON2023 event scheduled for the14 September at Rainton Arena which we are exhibiting at. The event featured a couple of speakers. Horizon Works shared valuable advice and tips on exhibition etiquette and we had the pleasure of listening to an incredibly enthusiastic presenter, Jeni Smith a Networking Strategist at NetKno. I found her presentation immensely helpful and beneficial, especially thanks to the visual aids and other fantastic communication techniques she utilised, I highly recommend her.
So, Finally after ten years of searching, I believe I have found an answer to the question, "What does your Business do?" It's quite a relief! I want to express my sincere gratitude once again to the amazing people at EMCON: Ailsa, Kaye, and Chris (a great techie) for organising the event and providing us at the opportunity to develop our skills as an organisation.
